MEMBERSHIP FAQWho is a member and what are the benefits of membership?
A member of Lifespring is any person who has completed the enrollment process for the current membership year, which runs from August 1 to July 31. Members may take courses for both fall and spring semesters, and participate in Winter Presentations, February mini-courses, special events, and all other activities.
How are new members admitted to Lifespring?
Each fall, Lifespring takes in as many new members as space and resources will permit. We are committed to welcoming new members in the fall of each year with the goal of keeping our organization refreshed and vital. Our current goals include offering some courses with limited enrollment to insure that spaces are not overcrowded and that classes foster quality discussions and creative learning. Because we are committed to offering some courses via Zoom, as well as in-person courses, our ability to expand the number of members who can participate in the Lifespring learning community has been significantly increased.
How do I apply for membership?
Each year, the fall catalog is published online on this website in early August. The catalog contains detailed information about the benefits of membership as well as course descriptions for all the fall courses and events. In addition, the catalog provides the necessary instructions to apply to become a new member or to renew a current membership, including the payment of the membership fee. Each year, the deadline to apply for membership is in mid-August.
Lifespring does not accept new members for the spring semester. If you would like to be notified by email when the fall catalog is online, please send an email to lifespring.saug@gmail.com asking to be placed on the notification/interest list. How do I know that my membership enrollment has been received?
Each Lifespring enrollee will receive an email acknowledgement and receipt when the payment has been processed.

Members can experience a wide range of teaching styles including lecture, discussion, and hands-on participation guided by our presenters, all of whom are volunteers from academia, business, the arts, and public service. In order to foster a robust learning environment and encourage a sense of community that is comfortable and accommodating, all Lifespring members are expected to behave in a manner that is respectful and courteous, to arrive at their classes on time, to share class time with others and not dominate the question/comments process, and to comply with reasonable requests made by the instructor/presenter. At the discretion of the Board of Directors of Lifespring, continued violation of this policy may result in the loss of Lifespring membership..
